A visit to the Monticello Railway Museum on August 20, 2000 netted a ride behind restored Wabash F-7A 1189, the Museum's premier diesel power. Erected by General Motors Diesel of Canada in 1953, it was the last F-7A built in that London, Ontario plant. It spent most of its operational career in in southern Ontario, being renumbered to 725 and then to Norfolk & Western 3725 in the 1964 N&W-Wabash-Nickel Plate merger. It was retired in 1979 and sent to Decatur, Illinois to be scrapped. However, in 1982 the N&W donated it to the Museum, which restored it to operation in 1992. I photographed the locomotive digitally when visiting the museum again in September 2015.
