Toledo, Peoria & Western EMD SW1500 305 idles at East Peoria, Illinois on October 17, 1972 in a transparency by David V. Leonard. The unit rides on Flexicoil trucks that replaced EMD's Blomberg trucks, but are judged not entirely successful. Electro-Motive delivered the locomotive in 1970. In 1983 it was sold to Chrome Crankshaft, and in 1985 it went to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for use on its industrial railroad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where it became NASA's (reporting mark NLAX) No. 2.
