Boston & and Maine's Flying Yankee, No. 6000, is shown here as displayed at the Edaville Railroad, South Carver, Massachusetts, in August 1960. The articulated trainset was built by the Budd Company in 1935 with electrical-mechanical components supplied by the Electro-Motive Corporation. It is almost identical to the Burlington Route's famous Pioneer Zephyr. The trainset operated in revenue service till 1957, after which the B&M donated it to Edaville where it remained for some forty years. Later owned by the State of New Hampshire, it then passed to the Conway Scenic Railroad where it is stored pending restoration to operating condition.
