Chicago & Eastern Illinois 4-4-2 No. 222 pulls past the grandstand during the 1948 "Wheels-a-Rolling" pageant. Still on the railroad's roster in 1948, the locomotive was slightly "antiqued" for the fair by having a raised headlight installed. After the fair it was scrapped, but its running gear (cylinders, drivers and rods) was made into an operating display at the Museum of Science and Industry. (Note: In Mr. O'Connor's original transparency a light pole obscured the front of the locomotive. The image has been digitally altered to remove the pole and restore the 1948 appearance of No. 222.)
