A Rutland 4-6-0, number unknown, passes the shelter at Thompson's Point, Vermont in July 1923 with a southbound milk train. My grandparents, Don M. and Julia D. Leonard, owned a cottage ("camp," in New England parlance) on Lake Champlain at Thompson's Point. My father, Richard D. Leonard, apparently snapped this view during a family visit to the summer home during his college or seminary years.
