The Pere Marquette Railroad's 2-8-4s were another variation on the Advisory Mechanical Committee's Berkshire design, sharing features with those of five other railroads. All were erected by Lima Locomotive Works. They had 69-inch drivers, 26x34-inch cylinders, and a boiler pressure of 245 p.s.i. They had a locomotive weight of 442,500 pounds and produced 69,368 pounds of tractive effort; for other specifications see the commentary for No. 1222 following. No. 1202, delivered in 1937 with the Pere Marquette's first group of Berkshires, appears here at Chicago on July 4, 1946 in a photo by Charles T. Felstead, from the William A. Raia collection. The image was acquired from an eBay vendor. No. 1202 went to the torch in 1954.
