The MoPac's N-73 class of 1943 had cylinders measuring 26x30 inches and drivers of 73 inches in diameter. Their boiler working pressure reached 285 p.s.i. and they had roller bearings on all axles. They weighed 489,000 pounds and developed 67,200 pounds of tractive effort. No. 2204 is seen here at Kansas City, Missouri in May 1949. The image, purchased via eBay, was included in Harold Vollrath's extensive collection but information about the responsible photographer, if not he, is lacking. It also appears in the Railfan.net ABPR Archive uploaded by Bud Laws. The last remaining members of the N-73 class met their demise in 1956.
