Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 No. 389 was one of the unrebuilt members of the L3 class, constructed according to the USRA heavy Mikado specifications. She came off the erecting floor at ALCo's Schenectady works in 1919 and was originally numbered 8688. As such she is shown here in an undated photo, location also unspecified, from the collection of Clifford "Mike" Southard. The photo is preserved at the Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Museum in Genoa, Illinois. No. 389 was dropped from the Milwaukee Road roster in 1953 or 1954.
