Like No. 8376, Grand Trunk Western No. 8380 belonged to class P-5-g and was among the 0-8-0 switchers Northwestern Steel & Wire in Sterling, Illinois, kept running at its plant plant until 1980. They were converted to burn oil and eqipped with auxiliary tenders from engines that had been scrapped. Today this engine is part of the collection at the Illinois Railway Museum. I photographed No. 8380 at Durand, Michigan during the summer of 1953, when it was still hard at work switching in the yard there.
