Canadian National 2-8-2 No. 3254 slows for the station stop at Moscow, Pennsylvania on January 19, 2008, in this digital view by David Leonard. Moscow was the terminus for most steam runs from Scranton. Canadian law required even freight locomotives to have "cowcatcher" pilots, as opposed to the footboard pilot common on freight power in the United States; hence No. 3254, though not originally a passenger locomotive, appeared natural in this type of operation, but is now out of service.
