B&O Mountain No. 5585 emerged from the Mount Clare Shops in 1947, being among the final ten 4-8-2s constructed from retired Mikados or Pacifics. In dimensions they shared the same general specifications as given for No. 725 (5584) previous. However, this group of class T-3c featured roller bearings on pilot, trailing, and tender axles. No. 5585 was assigned No. 726 in the 1956-57 renumbering. The photo, photographer unspecified, was snapped at Garrett, Indiana on August 19, 1956 and comes from the collection of Edward Lorence.
