B&O Mountain No. 5585 emerged from the Mount Clare Shops in 1947, being among the final ten 4-8-2s constructed from retired Mikados or Pacifics. In dimensions they shared the same general specifications as given for No. 5584 (725) previous. However, this group of class T-3c featured roller bearings on pilot, trailing, and tender axles. No. 5585 was assigned No. 726 in the 1957 renumbering. The photo, photographer unspecified, was snapped at Garrett, Indiana on August 19, 1956 and comes from the collection of Edward Lorence.
