EMD GP-7 No. 5766 brings the Peoria & Eastern's eastbound Corn Belt Special, train No. 12, across the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio diamond in Bloomington, Illinois, in this scene from June 1957. The train is making its stop at the GM&O station, the only Bloomington stop since the New York Central's P&E line abandoned its own passenger depot near Main Street in 1950. (My 1947 NYC timetable still shows a stop at the old location as well as here, then called "Alton Crossing" by the P&E.) Note the NYC practice of running GP-7s and other road switchers with the long hood first. I beat this train across town and snapped it again approaching Dean Tower.
