In a view from the Harold Vollrath collection purchased through eBay, Boston & Albany Berkshire No. 1454 rests in the terminal at Selkirk, New York in July 1945. Members of the A-1c class were delivered with twelve-wheel tenders, later applied to the earlier Berkshire classes when they became available upon retirement of Mikados, Mohawks, or Hudsons. With dieselization of the B&A No. No. 1454 was transferred to other eastern NYC lines early in 1949, but did not survive into the following year.
