A visit to the Monticello Railway Museum on August 20, 2000 netted a ride behind restored Wabash F7A 1189, the Museum's premier diesel power. Erected by General Motors Diesel of Canada in 1953, it was the last F7A built in that London, Ontario plant. It spent most of its operational career in in southern Ontario, being renumbered to 725 and then to Norfolk & Western 3725 in the 1964 N&W-Wabash-Nickel Plate merger. It was retired in 1979 and sent to Decatur, Illinois to be scrapped. However, in 1982 the N&W donated it to the Museum, which restored it to operation in 1992. I photographed the locomotive digitally when visiting the museum again in September 2015.
