The John Bull was built by Robert Stephenson in Britain for the Camden & Amboy Railroad in New Jersey, which placed it in service in 1831.Still operable, it is displayed at the Smithsonian Institution. The Camden & Amboy became part of the Pennsylvania Railroad, and in 1839 the PRR's Altoona shops built this operating replica of the John Bull for exhibition purposes. It is now at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
