Like most Illinois Central steam locomotives, Mikado No. 2130 had a mixed ancestry. Erected by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1912 as the IC's No. 1560, she was rebuilt in April 1942 in the railroad's Paducah Shops using the frame from a 2-10-2. As rebuilt No. 2130 had a driver diameter of 64½ inches, cylinder dimensions of 28x32 inches, and a boiler pressure of 225 p.s.i. She weighed 336,000 pounds and exerted 74,078 pounds of tractive effort. This photo may have been taken by the late Bruce Meyer. The date and location are unknown but the presence of other locomotives suggests a terminal facility such as that at Clinton, Illinois. According to Ray Breyer's comprehensive spreadsheet of all-time IC steam power, No. 2130 went to scrap in August 1957.
