A. B. Crompton photographed Canadian Pacific 4-6-0 No. 946 at St-Guillaume, Québec on October 3, 1959. Erected by Montreal Locomotive Works (then known as The Locomotive & Machine Company of Montreal) in 1911, it originally carried the number 2746. A representative of class D10g, it had 63-inch drivers, cylinder dimensions of 21x28 inches, and a boiler pressure of 200 p.s.i. With a locomotive weight of 186,000 pounds, it developed 33,300 pounds of tractive effort. The locomotive was scrapped in 1961. Tac Foley supplied the image for our Random Steam Collection.
