Tom Rock of T.D.R. Productions provided this image of Canadian National class J-7-a Pacific No. 5297. Built in 1918 for the Canadian Government Railways, this class was a product of Montreal Locomotive Works with dimensions similar to those for Nos. 5295 and 5299 of class J-7-c. This view by an anonymous photographer was taken at Stratford, Ontario on May 5, 1959. Even to the end, Canadian steam kept up a well-maintained appearance compared to some lines in the United States that did little to hide the fact that steam power was being phased out.
