Canadian National Mikado No. 3422 was a member of class S-1-f, erected in 1913 by the American Locomotive Company's Montreal works for the Grand Trunk Railway. Dimensions of this class were similar to those of other classes in the S-1 series. However, they weighed 283,000 pounds, had a boiler pressure of 175 p.s.i., and produced 51,637 pounds of tractive effort. The location is Stratford, Ontario in this September 5, 1958 view from the camera of David Leonard. This locomotive's original Grand Trunk number was 517; she was scrapped early in 1960.
