Doing a sizeable mail and express business at the Bloomington, Illinois, depot in June, 1957 is Peoria & Eastern train No. 12, the Corn Belt Special. New York Central GP-7 No. 5766 has halted its train at the usual stop straddling the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio's Jacksonville line, just short of the diamonds over the Chicago-St. Louis line of the former Alton Route.
