Until 1957, the Peoria & Eastern line still offered passenger service between Indianapolis and Peoria. Trains 11 and 12 plied the prairies as The Peorian, then after around 1955 as the Corn Belt Special when the train was cut back to Pekin. EMD GP7 No. 5625, bearing the Peoria & Eastern herald and lettered "New York Central System," pauses at the GM&O depot in Bloomington, Illinois, with the last westbound run of the Corn Belt Special on October 14, 1957. In this view we get a good look at part of the Bloomington depot that was shared with the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio.
