Until 1957 the Peoria & Eastern line still offered passenger service between Indianapolis and Peoria. Trains 11 and 12 plied the prairies as The Peorian, then after around 1955 as the Corn Belt Special when the train was cut back to Pekin, Illinois. In October 1957 David Leonard captured this view of GP-7 No. 5625 bringing the westbound Special across the GM&O diamonds into the Bloomington, Illinois, depot. The parallel track at left is the Nickel Plate's Peoria line.
