An unidentified EMD F-7 heads a four-unit A-B-A-B lashup through Edgerton, Ohio in late summer, 1961. The westbound freight is nearing the end of the segment of straight track that stretches from Toledo 68.5 miles across the Indiana border, the second longest tangent in the United States (and the longest when completed in 1856). The photo was taken where US-6 still makes a right-angle jog to cross the former New York Central, now Norfolk Southern.
