The Alton Limited from Chicago approaches Normal in August, 1961 with EMD F3A unit 883A leading an "A-B-A" combination. Some of the F units were geared for passenger service and alternated with E units on the Chicago-St. Louis trains. This unit wears a different paint scheme from that of the E units.
