Illinois Terminal car 104 is a center-entrance surface car originally used at Alton, Illinois. It was built in 1917 by American Car Co. This photo, by my brother David Leonard, was apparently taken at the Museum of Transportation in suburban St. Louis on May 10, 1959. The locomotive behind the car is Illinois Terminal B-B+B-B freight motor 1595, built in 1929. The steam locomotive on the left is C&NW 4-4-0 274, built by Baldwin in 1873, which also operated on the Winona & St. Peter Railroad.
