A family reunion at Clear Lake, Iowa in July 1973 provided the opportunity to visit the Iowa Terminal Railroad in nearby Mason City. In the carbarn I photographed cars 33 and 102. Car 33, a merchandise dispatch car, was built by the Cincinnati Car Co. in 1924. The Iowa Terminal equipped it with a roof platform and used it as a line car. Also built by Cincinnati, car 102 was formerly car 234 of the Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee. It later was owned by the National Railway Historical Society but came to the Iowa Terminal in 1968. Reportedly, it has been restored as North Shore car 727, still in Mason City.
